Jakarta Forum - Belgrade, After more than three acrimonious years, Serbia has finally accepted the credentials of a proposed ambassador from neighboring Bosnia and Herzego (BiH), Sven Alkalaj and Vuk Jeremic.The respective ministers of foreign affairs of BiH and Serbia announced jointly from Ankara, Turkey, where they are attending a trilateral conference, announced the appointment, it was reported Republic of Srpska `s news agency SRNA on Tuesday.
"Serbia has given its official acceptance for the ambassador to come to Belgrade and represent BiH," Jeremic said. His BiH counterpart, Alkalaj said the appointment of Borisa Arnaut as ambassador represented a "significant step in the normalization of diplomatic relations."
Arnaut had earlier been rejected, as had a subsequent candidate, Sead Avdic, who was recently appointed ambassador to India.
