COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION MINISTER TO VISIT SWEDEN

Jakarta Forum - London, Minister of Communications and Information Tifatul Sembiring and House Commission I chairman Kemal Azis Stamboel are making a working visit to Sweden on February 11-13, 2010.

First Secretary of the Indonesian Embassy in Stockholm Dody Kusumonegoro told the Antara in London Thursday that the visit of the two Indonesian officials will foster the bilateral relations between the two countries.

While in Sweden, the information minister will meet Swedish communications and information technology minister Tortensson to discuss increased relations in communications and information technology.

The Indonesian communications minister is also scheduled to meet Swedish businesspeople including CEO Ericsson, Hans Vestberg, and open Indonesia Day at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

Dody Kusumonegoro said Indonesia Day is held by the Indonesian embassy in association with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and would also be a one-day seminar to discuss the economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The seminar will be attended by representatives of more than 50 Swedish companies as a follow up to the result of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce`s visits to Indonesia in October and December last year.

In the meantime, House Commission I chairman Kemal Azis Stamboel will hold a meeting with chairman of the Swedish parliament (Riksdag) Per Westerberg, and foreign relations commission chief of the Swedish parliament Goran Lennmarker to discuss increased relations between the parliaments of the two countries, Dody Kusumonegoro said.
