QUAKE STRIKES NORTH MALUKU

Jakarta Forum - Bandarlampung, A quake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck at 1 northern lattitude and 126.36 eastern longitude, with its epicenter 113 kilometers northwest of Ternate, North Maluku.

According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency Wednesday, the quake lied 20 kilometers deep, but has no potential to trigger a tsunami.

Its epicenter was located 140 kilometers southeast of Bitung, North Sulawesi, 178 kilometers southeast of Manado, North Sulawesi, 218 kilometers northwest of Labuha, North Maluku, and 2,312 kilometers northeast of Jakarta.
