RUPIAH REMAINS STABLE AGAINST US DOLLAR

Jakarta Forum - Jakarta, The rupiah tended to be stable against the US dollar in the Jakarta interbank spot market here on Monday morning, on balanced demand and supply.

The Indonesian currency traded Rp9,335-Rp9,345 per US dollar.

Investors were not that active in the money market as they were still monitoring the developments of the European Union`s plan to help the Greek financial crisis, according to Alfiansyah, a domestic money market analyst of PT Sinarmas Securities.

Besides, they also still enjoyed the holiday of the Chinese lunar new year, he said.

However, he believed that the local unit still had a chance to move upward again and might reach the level of Rp9,300 per US dollar.
